Based on the directives of His Majesty, Oman is seeking to set up the ‘Oman Sustainability Centre’ and to achieve the goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. A’Sharqiyah University aims to play a prominent role in supporting this objective to enable the country to achieve environmental sustainability and a green economy.
In order to contribute to delivery of these goals, the College of Engineering will be hosting a two-day conference on Energy and Sustainability to be held in Ibra on 22-23 April 2024. This conference is consistent with the College’s vision of becoming a centre of excellence in energy and sustainability.
The objective of the proposed conference is to bring researchers from around the world to address a broad spectrum of energy and sustainability-related issues. This gathering is expected to foster closer working relationships among business and industry, university researchers, as well as between local and international scholars and organisations.

The International Conference on Energy and Sustainability will be held at AꞌSharqiyah University (ASU) which is located in the north of the AꞌSharqiyah Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. It is in Ibra town - 150 km from Muscat, the capital.
